Reforms at Ministry
After the end of the civil war (1975-1990), the ability of the Ministry of Finance (MOF) to deliver on its mandate was severely challenged due to the damage in infrastructure and physical assets, as well as the depletion of human resources that took place during the war. The strategy of the MOF facing this challenge consisted of adopting a comprehensive and integrated reform program to re-haul its operations. This reform program is part of the Ministry’s long term vision of structural reforms. Initially, the objective of the program was to restore previously existing functions at the MOF.
